Shigeharu "Haru" Asagiri
Asagiri-san (pictured left) is a true artisan. Haru founded Coedo Brewery in 1996 after many years of traveling the world researching and enjoying beer culture, diversity & brewing techniques. As a trained scientist and craftsman, Haru has transformed the craft beer industry in Japan with his exacting touch and keen aesthetic sense.
The team of brewers at Coedo are like a family; constantly pushing the boundaries of beer, innovation all while staying to true to the Beer Beautiful philosophy.
When Haru traveled the world, he noticed that beer was many colors. At that time in Japan, beer was only fizzy and yellow. Upon returning home Haru was determined to showcase the many beautiful colors of Japan in his beers. This is why Coedo's beers are named after colors in Japanese.
Beer is beautiful, like life is beautiful - for its diversity, ability to give pleasure and relaxation. Coedo beer is to be enjoyed with friends, food, family, new friends and at times of celebration.
